Reconciling Finance, Respect for the Environment and Humanity

While Financière de Champlain’s reputation is historically linked to its environmental expertise, the human dimension has always been at the heart of our concerns.

We will only be able to face up to the urgent changes required by global warning if we embody this change. These behavioral transformations call for a far-reaching review of our value system, and more specifically our relashionship with nature. Our ambition is to combine economic performance and social projects.

To paraphrase Gandhi:“Be the change that you want to see in the world”.

Our second conviction is that sefeguarding the environment and human development represent the two pillars for sustainable growth. And the two themes are intrinsically linked. Global warming, by affectiong countries of the south in priority, will further increase the already explosive inequalities!

Sustainable development and solidarity are therefore inseparable.

That is why Financière de Champlain has historically worked to support social integration by developing partnerships with the associative world.

The launch of The Champlain Solidarité fund, in June 2008, has made these convictions a reality. For us, solidarity is more than an “investment theme”. Its represent the link between all of our themes:

  • Solidarity with the environment (Performance Environment)
  • Solidarity between generations (Performance Vitae)
  • Solidarity between economic players (Performance Responsable)
  • Solidarity between human beings (Champlain Solidarité)

Lastly, it represents the conviction that development can only be sustainable if it is shared that it requires the concerted mobilization of all!
